Neighborhood Events

The Ingersoll Park Neighborhood Association hosts three events annually: the Neighborhood Block party on Labor Day weekend, the water station for the Des Moines Marathon in October, and the Neighborhood Holiday Walk in December. Detailed information for these, and others, is below.

Weekend Market

Block Party

This event takes place each year on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.  The party rotates between two islands located at Bradway and Harwood or Woodland and 44th Street.  

Join us on Saturday, September 2rd, 2023 at 4pm on the Harwood/Bradway St. island.  Drinks, grills, plates and silverware will be provided by the Association.  Bring meat or veggies for your family to grill and a side to share with your neighbors. This annual event is always a fun evening! 

IMT Des Moines Marathon Water Station

Each October, the IMT Des Moines Marathon comes through our neighborhood.  Our neighborhood hosts the Mile 8 Water Station each year next to the Bradway/ Harwood island.  Families and children are welcome to volunteer and cheer on runners!

Join us Sunday morning, October 15th at 7am at the Bradway/Harwood island.  We'll be setting up the Mile 8 Water Station with water and Gatorade.  Runners come through around 8:20am.  Please sign up using the IMT Marathon link below to receive your free T-shirt and be sure to sign up for Water Station E- Ingersoll Park.  

Ingersoll Park Holiday Walk

Each December two neighbors open their homes to the neighborhood for a Holiday Gathering.  The event is always the second Sunday in December.  

Join us Sunday, December 10 from 6-8pm. Bundle up your family and take a walk through the neighborhood!  More information to come soon.
